Are you wondering whether you should go for an MBA or work in a startup? Startup before MBA or after MBA? why work in a startup?

I am someone who has been working at a startup for the past 2 months. And what an exhilarating experience it has been. You look like a psychopath sitting in front of a laptop day and night, tapping on the keys.

Let me ask you few questions:

1. Are you ready for an MBA? Remember that MBA is not your any other college degree.

2. Do you understand business? Operations of business?

3. Ready to take a bet on finance investment for MBA?

If your answer is NO to any of the questions above. So, here is why everyone should work in a startup before going for an MBA.

Reason #1: You get hands-on learning of how a business operates in the real world. And then can go for an MBA to hone your skills.

You will come across story-worthy adventures every day that you can talk about in your MBA interviews.

And needless to say, the experience of working at a startup will shine like a bar of gold in your resume.

Reason #2: You learn by doing mistakes and overcoming fear every single day.

Every day is no less than an adventure, you would never know what is coming your way. You make mistakes, you learn and then you improvise.

You will learn things in a go or in a full night and ever ready for any new responsibility.

Reason #3: You learn to be a generalist at a startup. This can be your chance to explore roles and your suitability. And then MBA can help you specialize in your desired role.

In a startup, you work in a different domain every other day. And that’s normal. Today you would be writing or tomorrow you would be recruiting or managing.

Reason #4: You will get to work near the founders and passionate and driven team members.

In conclusion, consider working in a startup as an investment in yourself. I agree, you won’t get paid much or you will have to forgo social life but the ROI is far above these.

This can be your chance to explore different roles & expertise, learn new skills in a go.

so, do you have what it takes to work in a startup?
